Karachi: At least three people including a Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) worker were shot dead in different parts of Karachi, a metropolitan of Pakistan, due to the ongoing violence in the city, sources said on Saturday.

The sources said that in the recent violence of 24-hours almost four PPP workers were shot dead in two different incidents across the city.

“The violent incidents occurred in Sakhi Hasan, Surjani Town Sector-L-1 and Godhra Colony areas of Karachi,” they said.

PPP worker named Imran was shot dead near DC office in Sakhi Hasan. He was vice-President of PPP Mangho Pir.

In other incident unidentified armed motor-cyclists opened fire on a banned outfit worker resulting in the killing of Naeem Sheikh.

In the meanwhile, Abdullah, 55, an Imam of a mosque, was targeted when he was coming out of the mosque. Aggravated people opened fire and shut all shops in the area against the incident.

It is to be mentioned here that violence erupted in the city some days ago which Home Minister Sindh Manzoor Wasan has claimed that some forces wanted to erupt sectarian and ethnic violence in the city.
